In France, freight represents 9% of greenhouse gas emissions. In urban areas, it accounts for an average of 30% of greenhouse gas emissions, with 20% of traffic and 30% of road occupation. Optimising the transport of goods in urban areas is therefore a strategic issue involving the reduction of the distance travelled, the duration of urban rounds and the use of means that have less and less impact in order to promote the sustainable development of our urban areas.
The ASTRE group, with its Palet System solution for palletised transport, has joined forces with the urban delivery operator URBY to distribute pallets of goods in dense urban areas. The 2 brands have signed a partnership agreement based on the development of responsible transport with the strength of a network of logistics platforms that optimises and consolidates goods in an ecological and economic way. Thanks to this partnership, Astriens will be able to benefit from the services offered by URBY, according to their delivery constraints in a given sector (hypercentre), to meet the specific needs of customers and the requirements of sustainability.
Astre is committed to a decarbonisation approach through several actions, in particular through its voluntary EVcom commitment as a transport commissioner and the URBY network is investing €20M in a low emission fleet.
